Our Mission.

To build actionable, forward-thinking solutions that reduce suffering and strengthen recovery care systems—so that individuals, families, and communities can thrive. Every person’s healing journey deserves the same respect, dedication, and personalized care.

Our Story.

Founded in 2018, Dolan Research International partners with leaders and organizations to strengthen behavioral health and addiction recovery systems. We’re known for work that’s practical, meaningful, and designed to help people and programs thrive—not in theory, but in real time, with real impact.

We’ve developed more than 50 customized training curricula, including nationally recognized LGBTQ inclusion programming. Our team has trained over 38,300 individuals across the country—peer staff, supervisors, state agency leaders, and care teams—equipping them with tools that make sense in the field, not just on paper.

Whether we’re building a workforce strategy, shaping curriculum from the ground up, or guiding organizations through change, our focus is the same: make it work, make it last, and make sure it reflects the values of the people doing the work.

When you partner with Dolan, you’re not outsourcing a task—you’re bringing in a team that listens closely, works alongside you, and stays with you through the questions, the pivots, and the final stretch.

Kris McGinnis

Director, Dolan Academy

Kris McGinnis is a dedicated recovery advocate and peer support specialist who knows firsthand the power of transformation. Since achieving long-term recovery from alcohol misuse on September 3, 2007, Kris has devoted herself to helping others find hope and healing. Her journey through recovery has shaped not only her own life but also her passion for supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use.

During the years she spent as a stay-at-home mom, Kris found purpose in serving her community. She led local moms’ groups, offered rides to women in treatment so they could attend Mutual Aid meetings, and brought recovery support into treatment centers. These experiences opened her eyes to the unique needs of women and children affected by substance use—and sparked her desire to be part of the solution.

In 2021, Kris joined Dolan Research International, where she found a like-minded team that shares her commitment to making a difference. At Dolan, she helps develop and deliver training for Peer Recovery Specialists, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to support others on their journey. Whether she’s collaborating on new curriculum or mentoring peers, Kris is motivated by the belief that recovery is possible for everyone. She remains deeply grateful for the chance to give back and help others navigate their own paths to healing.
